Child and Adolescent Therapy

Working with children and adolescents is unique and differs from therapy with adults. Children and adolescents learn about their emotions, behaviours and relationships in an engaging way using play, games and interactive activities.

When working with children and adolescent clients, the involvement of parents and those who care for them is important. Treatment may involve a mixture of seeing the parents, family and young person individually.

Children and adolescents can be seen for:

  • Depression and emotional difficulties

  • Somatic complaints – including pain and fatigue
  • Chronic pain
  • Anger Management problems
  • Emotion regulation difficulties
  • Behavioural difficulties
  • Parent and family relationship difficulties
  • Trauma and Stress
  • Low self-esteem
  • Peer relationship difficulties and bullying
